The 4th Days of Civil Protection and Rescue took place from 29 September to 1 October in Koper.
The event was opened by Minister of Defence Dr Ljubica Jelušič; President Dr Danilo Türk visited this event too.
This year’s theme was devoted to the sea and how to protect it. The main practical drill “The Sea 2011” took place on 30 September in the Bay of Koper and its purpose was to check the response time of protection and rescue forces in the event of accidents on the sea. The drill scenario included a collision of two ships, a fire on one of the ships and spills of hazardous substances into the sea.
In the tent on Ukmar Trg, 50 producers and sales agents put their products on display, one of them being Savatech’s programme for protection and rescue products. EKO appeared together with the companies WEBO and EURO GV to present a completed range of products.
SAVATECH d.o.o. showed its products for the rescue area: lifting products and sealing plugs. WEBO displayed hydraulic tools manufactured by Weber Hydraulic - the key customer for EKO’s lifting bags. EURO GV presented itself as a producer and outfitter of fire-fighting and technical rescue vehicles.
The show room attracted many visitors including new and potential customers.
We particularly wish to point out that Minister of Defence Dr Ljubica Jelušič expressed her genuine interest in the products made by Savatech’s environmental protection and rescue programme as well as in the operation itself.

The 22 units, which are co-financed by the Administration for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief for interventions in various accidents, demonstrated their activities and equipment on this occasion. Numerous professional and voluntary organisations and societies participated in the event including fire-fighters, mountain rescuers, speleologists, scuba divers, meteorologists, dog trainers and many others.
Besides modern vehicles, equipment and means of protection and rescue, also old-timers, old-fashioned fire-fighting vehicles, equipment and accessories were put on display all along the Semedela Promenade on Thursday. Another drill called Markovec took place on Saturday, 1 October. |
